Amazing follow up。Stacia Stark has a way of keeping you in the story no matter what is going on。 This is the 2nd book in the Bargains with Beasts trilogy and it kept you in your toes。 The story flowed， but there were still the little bits of humanity that showed throughout。 You got a peak in different lives， and saw characters from the previous stories。 I really enjoyed this， and can’t wait for the third。

I wanted to like this book。 I like the others and I like the world- it’s just so choppy and not able to stand alone。 All the emotional beats are in the other book- why Evie is mad about the lies， why Vitus matters and his pain， etc。 it just makes this book harder to read because I didn’t read all of them at once as an omnibus so there wasn’t a lot of weight。 The plot was a little skewy- sword quest that reminded me of HP and the sorcerers stone， bubbling Finvarra and Kyla tension— then back to t I wanted to like this book。 I like the others and I like the world- it’s just so choppy and not able to stand alone。 All the emotional beats are in the other book- why Evie is mad about the lies， why Vitus matters and his pain， etc。 it just makes this book harder to read because I didn’t read all of them at once as an omnibus so there wasn’t a lot of weight。 The plot was a little skewy- sword quest that reminded me of HP and the sorcerers stone， bubbling Finvarra and Kyla tension— then back to the who evil mages plot， oh wait Nathaniel is book possessed， … it just didn’t have a straight line。 Tying up old loose ends， cameos - pregnant Mer！ … Nathaniel and Evie are okay together， but it felt off with the whole ‘bond’ thing。 She kept apologizing for not believing in their love when she’s been abandoned before and they haven’t been together that long。 。。。more

Book #2 in the Bargains with Beasts and it was so good that I had to finish it in one sitting。 Wonderful characters and storyline that were beautifully written。 I could not stop reading。

OMG！ Devoured in hours！ Evie and Nate were so swoon-worthy and magical。 Also， I think I’m going to fight the wolves and the demons for Tobias！ The end was quite satisfying with a lot of questions answered but with so many possibilities waiting to be turned into more books， I love reading Stacia’s books because there is so much interesting， original， and relatable traits in these characters who are well… fictional。 Another win for Stacia。
